Mischa Leinkauf & Matthias Wermke

The Nomadic Condition refers to existence as a continuous state of becoming.

Nothing is fixed, boundaries are relative and there is no place for a notion like 'reality'. Four artists explore this idea from totally different angles: the psychological dimension, the blurring of boundaries between disciplines and between nature and the city, and love of the moment, with neither beginning nor end.

16 January till 11 April 2010: One - Andrei Roiter

One presents 21 recent paintings by the Russian artist Andrei Roiter

(Moscow, 1960; currently living in Amsterdam and New York).

The visual motifs he uses in One consist of decaying fragments of buildings. The rendering of these spatial volumes as chunks of debris, apparently suspended in the air, gives them the character of abstract memories.

Roiter's enigmatic images are both autonomous and connected with one another. The formal correspondence, in terms of content and form, creates a coherent series.

One is all. All is one.

A catalogue is available for € 24,-- during the exhibition / € 35 after April 11, and can be ordered via winkel@sm-s.nl
